A few nights ago, I was again fortunate enough to get a call to photograph a gig and an artist here in Saigon. This time, it was
Ken Stringfellow, an American musician noted for his time and work with such bands as R.E.M. and The Posies. Admittedly, the name didn't ring a bell at first, but after a quick trip through google, I could see it would probably be a show I would dig. And it was. Pretty unlike any other show I've seen, and most likely different than most in Vietnam. The crowd small enough, and the music mellow enough, Ken forwent the stage, and brought his guitar and mic (which he didn't even use a great deal) into the middle of the crowd for and intimate serenading of all lucky enough to be in the house. It was definitely a great night of music, and I look forward to hearing more from him in the future.

A few portraits before the show.

As he began to move further and further into the crowd.

Fully surrounded by people, and they, fully surrounded by music.
